October 2021 Update
Hello there!
Wow, September was a blur. Last update you got, we were mid-move, our days spent trailering loads of what truly looked like junk from farm to farm. A lot of what I consider "gold" on a farm looks exactly like trash.
It has been a bit over a week since we said bittersweet farewells to our Atkins farm and began to spend full days on the new land. I can't tell you how happy I am to not be in as much constant motion (driving, picking things up, putting things down). Getting back to farming after a three month decathlon of a move is undeniably refreshing.
As far as new farm infrastructure, we have water and are only mere weeks from electricity. What a life-changer that will be. I am settling into the off-grid RV life; the cats are too, as they have learned to open the screen door themselves.
We have shifted our focus to planting out the space that will eventually be our first high tunnel. See attached picture to see the evolution of our bed-prep process.
We have also shifted our focus to (finally!) WREATH MAKING! One of my favorite times of the year. Available wreaths have now been posted to our website. Each wreath is listed individually, as they are one of a kind. If you don't see anything that strikes you, keep checking back; I will be adding wreaths as I complete them.
Small dried wreaths are $30, large ones are $50. We are also working to make sprays that can be used as centerpieces, wall hangings, mantle decor, or even to hang above a doorway.
How to get your wreath? Several options.
$7 flat rate shipping
Pick-up from the Abingdon farm on Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm. (Directions provided after checkout)
Pick-up from Sisters' Cafe in Marion (wreaths will be delivered once a week on Monday mornings)
Email/Text/Call to arrange a pick-up
In other news, Stormbrew Farm is working to team up with local artists to design some cool new merch for the holiday season. Keep an eye on your inbox, I will update you as soon as it is ready! I am SO excited about this project.
That's all for now. Wishing you the same peace & restfulness that October has brought me.
