3 September 2021
Good morning,
There is an autumnal chill in the air this morning as I write this update, waiting for my sweatshirts to dry so I can bound up to the foggy garden and cut flowers for this weekend's orders. My days among the fields here on Stormbrew 1.0 are numbered; the time spent harvesting and soaking in the beauty of this hill is precious. As bittersweet as it feels to look around at the progress of two seasons and bid farewell, I am absolutely ecstatic about the budding journey of Stormbrew 2.0. Mind if I give you a brief update?
In a two month span, a hayfield has turned into a farm. Truly, my mind is boggled at the thought of all the infrastructure that has been laid down in such a short time. All of the praise to my business partner and her tenacity. TCB .
The animals have adjusted incredibly well. The small trial of plants (badly rootbound and neglected before planting) have thrived. The soil type and amount of growing space are life-changing inputs for us. We have our new greenhouse on-site, ready to be assembled. We now have running water too () to make caring for the critters and plants easy.
I could go on with an itemized list, but all in all- it's working. 2.0 is cruising along at a steady clip. This hayfield- this literal 'field of possibility' - is taking shape as the farm we are dreaming up. I look forward to the day when I am cutting flowers and setting the table, anticipating you for a lunchtime visit :)

Onto the NEWS

HONEY
You can now find our honey at Past Time Antique Emporium in downtown Marion, VA. If you have never visited, I highly recommend it. I love an antique store, and this truly is one of the best I've ever seen. I have lost many hours there.
FLOWERS
We will have flowers through the end of this month. You can continue to find them at Sisters' Cafe during the week. The next flower drop at Sisters' will be Tuesday, September 7th. For weekend flowers, contact me before a Friday to arrange for a farm pick-up.
T-SHIRTS etc.
Full disclosure: I really just enjoy designing new t-shirts for myself, but if you like my designs, you can have one too! There is a new shirt design on our TeeSpring as well as a couple sticker designs and even a mug! Feedback suggested some shirt colors other than black, so you can find a few more options now. As winter closes its icy clutches around me I will likely be working on more designs- I'll keep you posted.
WREATHS
I can tell you are excited about wreath season. So am I! We will offer fall wreaths through our website this year. I am waiting on a few supplies to come in and then I will be like an elf in my wreath workshop, cranking out dried autumnal goodies to adorn your doors. Due to the quantity of flowers required for a full dried flower wreath, prices will be higher than those of fresh wreaths. Depending on size, you can expect a dried flower wreath to run between $50 and $150, depending on size. Two great things about them though? They last forever (if cared for) and we can ship them. Fresh Christmas wreaths to follow.

Well, I can hear the dryer going off and the garden beckons. Time for a blue-skied September day of harvesting. Thanks for reading, feel free to reply (email is my favorite medium of communication).
